This project involved the careful restoration and complete rebuild of a large chimney on a mews property after it had deteriorated beyond repair.

The existing chimney was in a severely compromised condition and was carefully dismantled by hand, brick by brick, to preserve as much of the original material as possible. This meticulous approach allowed the character of the property to be maintained while ensuring the structure could be rebuilt safely.

Using the reclaimed original bricks, we reconstructed the chimney to precisely match its original appearance. Particular attention was given to replicating the existing brick bond, decorative corbel detailing, and overall proportions, ensuring the finished chimney blended seamlessly with the historic character of the building.

As the original chimney pots and stacks were beyond salvage, new replacements were installed to match the style of the originals while providing a safe and durable finish.

The completed project restored the structural integrity of the chimney while preserving the property’s traditional appearance, combining skilled craftsmanship with sympathetic restoration techniques to achieve a result that looked as though it had always been there.
