SW11 - Marjorie

This project involved upgrading an existing garden and carrying out structural alterations to improve both the outdoor space and the future functionality of the home.

After more than 20 years of use, the original patio had settled significantly, creating uneven surfaces and trip hazards. The client wanted to retain the established character of the garden while bringing it up to modern standards. We carefully removed the existing paving and excavated the area before installing a new compacted hardcore sub-base to provide a stable, long-lasting foundation. New paving slabs were then laid to closely match the appearance of the original patio, preserving the look of the garden while delivering a safe and durable finish.

As part of the project, we also carried out structural alterations to the rear of the property in preparation for a future kitchen renovation. The existing rear wall was modified to relocate the external door to the far side of the extension, with a new window installed in place of the original doorway. These alterations created a more practical internal layout, allowing for additional kitchen units and improved use of the available space.

The completed project successfully modernised the garden while maintaining its original character and prepared the property for the client’s planned kitchen installation, adding both practicality and long-term value to the home.
