This project involved the restoration of two chimneys, ensuring both their structural integrity and long-term weather resistance while maintaining the character of the property.
One chimney had deteriorated beyond repair and required a complete rebuild. The existing structure was carefully dismantled before being reconstructed using traditional bricklaying techniques to match the original appearance of the property. Care was taken to ensure the rebuilt chimney blended seamlessly with the existing brickwork, preserving the architectural character of the building while providing a safe and durable structure.
The second chimney remained structurally sound but required extensive repointing due to weathered and failing mortar joints. The deteriorated mortar was carefully raked out and replaced with new mortar, restoring the strength of the chimney while preventing water ingress and further deterioration.
By combining a full chimney rebuild with sympathetic repointing works, the project restored the property’s roofline, improved its weather resistance, and extended the lifespan of both chimney stacks while maintaining their original appearance.
